Oncology massage is the modification of existing massage therapy techniques in order to safely work with cancer patients that are in active treatment to those in recovery or survivorship.

All massage techniques will be demonstrated by instructor and all students will give and receive all techniques demonstrated.

This course will go over Medical Massage techniques using OMT, Strain/Counterstrain, Trigger Points, and what effect they have treating pain and disabling conditions of the upper extremities.

This course will introduce:

  • Addressing Medical Conditions

  • Contraindications

  • Musculoskeletal Pain Referral

  • Possible Causes of Traumatic Sprain/Strain Injury

  • Overuse/Repetitive Sprain/Strain

This course will provide the student with a comprehensive knowledge of how to treat pain and disabling conditions of the upper extremities. Students will be qualified to work with physician referrals.

This course will cover:

  • What is Medical Massage

  • Massage Techniques

  • Bicep Tendonitis

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • De Quervain Tenosynovitis

  • Neck Strain

  • Rhomboid Strain

  • Rotator Cuff Strain

  • Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

This is our Medical Massage for the Lower Extremities, In-Person Training Course. It is available as a stand-alone 12 CEU In-Person Course, OR you can add the optional License Renewal Package for an additional cost and receive 24 CEU credits. This Course will include Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy, (OMT), strain-counterstrain and trigger points.

All techniques in course manual are demonstration and extensive hands-on practice will be given to students as they give and receive all techniques.

This course will introduce how Osteopathic Manipulative, Therapy, (OMT) which uses techniques that manipulate fascia (connective tissue), major muscle groups, joints, tendons and ligaments, to relieve muscular and soft tissue pain, dysfunction, and injuries, including:

  • Back Pain

  • Neck Pain

  • Sciatica

  • Foot, Ankle, Hip, and Knee Pain

  • Hand, Shoulder, and Elbow Pain

  • Headaches

  • Tennis and Golfer's Elbow

It is also utilized to help patient/clients regain and improve their health and fitness.

This course is specifically designed to be extremely useful for continuing education training for both new and advanced massage therapists wanting to work within the medical community qualified to treat specific conditions with knowledge and confidence.

Properly performed by a licensed massage therapist, Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy, (OMT), restores the body’s structural balance, significantly reduces acute soft tissue pain, and improves flexibility.
